Welcome to my page! My name is Tyler Ramsawak, and I'm a freshman Electrical Engineering
major at the University of Florida. ![]()
I've just completed my first semester!
I enjoy playing the electric guitar and bass, and really would like to start an emo band with my friends at school. Perhaps something that sounds like a blend of reverent mid-west folk like the band The World is a Beautiful Place & I am no Longer Afraid to Die, the angst of the Front Bottoms, with Basement or Sunny Day Realestate grit. idk! I've only been playing guitar and bass for a year, so I am not too good yet!
I collect reel to reel machines and other 70s equipment, too. I have 5 or so reel to reel reproducers and I I've naturally become quite good at repairing them and calibrating them. Calibration is quite fun, you get to return the machine to NAB standards which is always a good feeling. I feel like a mad scientist when I do it because of how complex it looks.
I also like to design my own electronics in KiCAD! I've made sooo many things, from simple stuff like amplifiers, to super complex multi-page 4G LTE telephones! I am actually in the process of redesigning my 4G LTE Motorola MicroTAC through the Blueprint program offered by Hack Club! It is unfortunately my last year of hack club, I would like to work for them!! Although I will become an EE, part of me wants to be a teacher for some reason. Mainly because I didn't have any electronics guidance in my formative years, and I'd like to help kids learn cool things (either an instrument or hardware). I can code, too, but not too well. Although I am good at Python and can barely write C. I am in a C++ class at school, so maybe I can get my embedded programs and real time operating systems ported to a better, faster language than Micropython. I love music and I collect vinyl!!!
